So what goes in this list? Quite simply, it's the fun factor of a game. If a game's no fun, then why play it even if it looks and plays extremely well? Now, there's other factors that make up the criteria of the games I love, even though it's not as big of a part as fun. Of course graphics make up a decent part in a game, and so does the music. A rocking soundtrack can make up for some flaws, but not all of them. Anyways, that's enough ramblings, so let's start. - Patrick

WHAT'S IT ABOUT:
The story begins in Hyrule forest as 10-year old Link is summoned to try save the Great Deku Tree's life; but he fails. Before the Great Deku Tree dies, he gives Link some stone and tells him to go Hyrule Castle to talk to Princess Zelda. Once you arrive, Zelda assigns Link a quest to get some stones, get the Master Sword and the Triforce before the evil Ganondorf, King of Thieves, does. So Link gets the stones but Ganondorf beats him to the Master Sword and Link is trapped for seven years. When he awakens the world has changed for the worst under the iron fist of Ganondorf, so Link must find and awaken the Sages of the world as most of them have forgotten their identities after the change. All the while, this mysterious ninja named Sheik is helping you.

WHY PATRICK LIKES IT:
This game is really good even though it's not the ultra-masterpiece that it's built up to be. The game looks great and plays well. The story is suitably epic and has one of the most badass final boss fights ever created. The collectibles are actually worth collecting so you can be a great warrior.

PATRICK'S FAVORITE MOMENT:
     The final boss fight.

WHAT'S IT ABOUT:
The story begins on the outskirts of Planet Goldwood where the evil Mizar has attacked the populace with his insect drone army. The Jet Force fleet comes to the rescue, but they're all destroyed...all but the one ship that contains our three heroes. They leave their ship and crash land on Goldwood where they are also forcibly split up. Along the way, they re-unite and meet up with Floyd while entering the evil Mizar lair. They beat him up but Mizar escapes and hijacks an asteroid heading for Earth which will hit in one week. The king of the planet, King Jeff, offers his assistance but only after you save all of his people and get the parts to make a spaceship fast enough to catch the asteroid.

WHY PATRICK LIKES IT:
This game is the closet we would probably ever get to a Starship Troopers game. There's humans killing bugs and you see them explode while collecting their heads. Also, it's a lot better than that movie anyways. What this game does really well is basically relax the player. If they had a really bad day, they can pop this game up kill some things and they'll probably feel better. I don't know, it worked for me.

PATRICK'S FAVORITE MOMENT:
     Fighting Mizar.

WHAT'S IT ABOUT:
Since this is a licensed game, the plot is the same as the movie. I could just tell you to watch the movie and you'll be just fine. But just to recap the events, here's what happened. The lion prince Simba is born to the lion King Mufasa and his woman....female lion. This greatly displeases Mufasa's brother Scar, since he will not be next-in-line to be king. So, he hatches and executes a plan so he can get Simba and Mufasa out of the way, which sends Simba into exile. Then Simba comes back for his own REVENGE!

WHY PATRICK LIKES IT:
The controls are very fluid and simple to use even though it's been years since I last played it. The graphics are bright, colorful and vibrant. The game play is still smooth, even though it's hard. The spirit of the movie lives in this game and that's why I loved this game then and still love it now.

PATRICK'S FAVORITE MOMENT:
     The 'Be Prepared' stage.

WHAT'S IT ABOUT:
A year after the events of Jak II, Jak is Baron of Haven City. But things are not well as things in the city have deteriorated to a point where there's a civil war and Jak & Daxter have been banished into The Wasteland by the evil Count Veger. They wander and nearly die until they are rescued by King Damas from Spargan City, who they must repay that debt with missions if they wish to live there. So, they're off doing missions until they run into Ashelin, one of the friends from Jak II, where she wants Jak to come back to Haven City since Metalheads have returned. Jak eventually comes back and finds things even worse than before. Then, it really gets worse as a purple star in the sky is actually space ship piloted by Dark Makers, some Precursors who got exposed to Dark Eco, and is going to crash down making things even worse for the planet.

WHY PATRICK LIKES IT:
This game may be flawed but it is still very awesome. The graphics are still very strong and the characters are still endearing with awesome dialogue. The action scenes in the game are awesome as you drive around with weapon-mounted vehicles. The story may be flawed and broken, but it's epic-nature can't be ignored. The only major flaw is the thing with Keira but even then all the good parts kinda make up for it. Is it as good as Jak II? No, but it's still a worthy entry in the Jak and Daxter series.

PATRICK'S FAVORITE MOMENT:
Killing those big, dinosaur-like beasts in The Wasteland.

WHAT'S IT ABOUT:
It has been two years since the events of the first Banjo-Kazooie game. You have defeated the evil witch Gruntilda and her body lies buried near our heroes, the titular Banjo and Kazooie, house. But things will not be peaceful for Gruntilda's sisters have found her body and dug it up. Of course, since Gruntilda's a witch she uses WITCHCRAFT to still be sentient and blow up Banjo's house, killing their mentor from the first game -- Bottles, the mole. So the heroes go out for justice and find that Gruntilda is going to use technology to steal the life-force of the world so she can be like she was before the first game.

WHY PATRICK LIKES IT:
This game is a very worthy sequel to Banjo-Kazooie. The gameplay is very fun and varied with many different things to do. The story is a bit darker, but it's a good darker and it’s edgier. The characters are still lovable and the dialogue is witty. Of course, there was Dynamic Difficulty but other than that there isn't too many other major flaws, and it's a great send-off to the 64 era.

PATRICK'S FAVORITE MOMENT:
     Fighting Mr. Patch.

WHAT'S IT ABOUT:
You’re this guy called Tomba, with crazy pink hair, frolicking in his perfect island home with the perfect island populace. But then these evil pigs barge in corrupting the island with evil and greed. They take all the gold and then they made the ultimate mistake, they stole Tomba's grandfather's bracelet and now Tomba is out to get it back, armed with a bag that will send the Evil Pigs back to the hell from which they came.

WHY PATRICK LIKES IT:
This game is awesome! It's incredibly fun to play and the difficulty has a nice, even slope. It's good cotton candy for the eyes, hands, and brain while you cause an evil pig genocide. It's a shame that the publishing company, Whoopee Camp, would only release one more game, a sequel to Tomba which isn't as good, before they went under.

PATRICK'S FAVORITE MOMENT:
When Tomba jumps into the water for the first time.

WHAT'S IT ABOUT:
The first game had a boring story. The second game only had two-thirds of a story but it was a good two-thirds of a story. Now combine the good story of Going Commando with a real ending like the first game and you got the story structure of Up Your Arsenal. The evil Dr. Nefarious has returned (he was before the games) and you need to grovel at the feet of Captain Qwark, the guy who's been your arch-enemy for the past two games...or at least you would if he didn't think he was a monkey. So you have to get his memory back, defeat Nefarious, and shoot things with your many guns in this fun story.

WHY PATRICK LIKES IT:
At first, I was a bit disappointed that it was mostly just shooting and that it didn't have any other game-modes other than a side-scroller with the Qwark vid-comics. Then I remembered that those other modes were really frickin' difficult! It also amps up the action with fewer platformer elements, and that's pretty good cause the platforming elements never really mesh well with the first two games. But they are still there in Up Your Arsenal...it's just in death courses which is understandable, they are death courses for crying out loud!

PATRICK'S FAVORITE MOMENT:
"There, we walked your stupid path of death!"

WHAT'S IT ABOUT:
Years after the events of Donkey Kong, Mario and his brother Luigi run a plumbing business. However, through some wacky (and possibly drug-induced) events, they find this pipe and go through it to the Mushroom Kingdom. Instead of exploring the kingdom and living like kings, they find out that the fair maiden Princess Peach has been kidnaped by the evil King Koopa; Bowser! So now Mario and Luigi have to go through a lot of worlds to find the castle and kick Bowsers ass multiple times since all you seem to rescue are the Toad Retainers who then tell you that the Princess is in another castle.

WHY PATRICK LIKES IT:
This game still holds up, even today. The game is pretty difficult, but it is still a boat load of fun as you navigate through the levels and dodge every thing that Bowser throws at you. Everything about this game is iconic, including the music and controls. This started off a revolution of fun, fast-paced gameplay that hasn't stopped since it started and will never stop. So thank Super Mario Brothers for being awesome. Without it, you probably be off reading a book or something like that.

PATRICK'S FAVORITE MOMENT:
     Finding the first warp zone.

WHAT'S IT ABOUT:
you pick between Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Donkey Kong, Toad, Wario, Yoshi and Princess Peach and you take your car. You then race to the around some track three times and if you're the first to cross, you win! Hooray! And that is the plot of this; just win. There's no story, no fancy cut-scenes or even anything that resembles a plot at all!

WHY PATRICK LIKES IT:
This game is both awesome on its own and as a great party game. The controls are extremely smooth and stands as one of the best control schemes for a racing game ever. The graphics are bright and colorful. The level design is great with plenty of details to get lost behind. Even the battle mode in this game gets an upgrade from the Super Nintendo version of Mario Kart with better aiming for weapons, making head-to-head combat awesome. If anything, this game has given me great memories with friends.

PATRICK'S FAVORITE MOMENT:
Racing with my friends at Rainbow Road.
